*I find it interesting that my mechanics get better with each dog I'm working. Boaz is the best video of this EXAM as my handling is excellent.

Training Mox at an AKC obedience trial.
=======================================================================
Today was a first for Mox at the obedience trial. I got there early, set up her kennel, and let her vege out. She was stressed!@#! so I covered her kennel with a blanket.

When I was ready, I did warm-ups in the crating area with what were low levels of distractions. Warm-ups were early in the morning, there are only a few dogs, people and crates. Still, this is a totally new environment for Mox and she has to work to focus.

I kennel Mox again and let her vege out to think about life for over an hour.  It starts to get busier faster in the crating area. Mox now has to deal with more people, crates, dogs and gasp! food on the ground, in chairs and in treat bags - everywhere.

Video: Mox Week 3, Day 6 Readiness Test - Stand

By this time, she has earned the right to be outside the kennel, close to my left side on the leash and watching all the activity around her. She does NOT bark, she does NOT whine or scratch or sniff or lunge.  She just sits and in time, lays down, and watches the activity.
to sleep. I took the blanket off her kennel and she looked at me as if to say, "I don't care."

By noon, she told me "I am done." So, I kenneled her and she turned her back on all the activity, closed her eyes and went to sleep. I took the blanket off her kennel and she looked at me as if to say, "I don't care."

And promptly went back to sleep, noise, dogs, people and all. She just went to sleep.

Atta, girl, Mox-:)
