Good. Pointers:

1) On the Stand, once the dog is IN a Stand, do not ever put any pressure on the leash. Fran broke because you put the tiniest pressure on the leash which she read as 'go'. So, I usually drop the leash at least so there is a "J" in the leash once the dog is in a Stand.
2) Do a 'set' of Fran's shoulders, you in heel position, BEFORE you command "Wait". Although this is for a FC dog, it still works great on a puppy or a young dog as that small 'set', that is a push down on the dog's withers/shoulders BEFORE you command, "Wait", actually causes a dog to brace UPWARD and so the Stand is more stable. A Margot thing she taught me years ago.
3) You do NOT EVER WANT A DOG TO SIT FROM A STAND AT THIS POINT IN THEIR EDUCATION. You do NOT EVER WANT A DOG TO SIT FROM A STAND AT THIS POINT IN THEIR EDUCATION. You do NOT EVER WANT A DOG TO SIT FROM A STAND AT THIS POINT IN THEIR EDUCATION. In class when teaching this I literally have my students repeat the above mantra outload 3 times. Why is this critical? Because when you are done with an exercise, simply do a "Let's Go" for now. In FC, we do the Exercise Finish in Week 3 to teach a dog 'this exercise is over'. So, layer that in now and do not allow a dog to Sit from a Stand or you will have a broken Stand. Just move the dog forward.

Sit and Down mechanics look good. One observation? On the Sit, sometimes your left hand shaping the Sit is in correct position, that is the left thumb is towards you, left fingers on dogs left hip. However, sometimes you invert your left hand and your left thumb is pointing down on the dogs left hip and left fingers are on the dogs right side? This is bass ackwards and does not give you the control you need. And it's an awkward and unsafe position for most learning students so I drill correct Sit position mechanics where their left thumb is to be close to their body.

Also, should you ever have a dog that refuses to Sit, the correct Sit position mechanic allows you to put a squeeze on either side of the tail where the nerves are, and the dog has no option but to Sit. As long as the right hand has control of the head with the right thumb to the sky, these mechanics provide maximum safety and control at all times.

Make sense?

I just uploaded last week's videos and there is a MP EXAM (take 2 practice) with Ruth for you to observe. I will introduce the Down next week. This week we have worked on steadiness, trust and balance here, there and everywhere-:). Photos soon.
